Cube is opening its e-bike range to a second drive-system supplier for the first time. Starting with the 2027 model year, the German brand will fit DJI’s Avinox motor to two versions of its Stereo Hybrid ONE44 e-MTB — a notable break from a Bosch-exclusive strategy that has defined Cube’s Hybrid models since 2014.
The first two Avinox-equipped bikes are the Stereo Hybrid ONE44 HPC EXC 800 at €4,799 and the higher-spec Super TM 800 at €6,999. Both use DJI’s Avinox M2S drive unit paired with a removable 800 Wh battery. Crucially, this is not a limited special edition: the DJI bikes sit in Cube’s regular catalogue, directly alongside sibling models in the same family that continue to run Bosch’s Performance Line CX and CX-R motors.
On paper, the Avinox M2S delivers up to 130 Nm of sustained torque, with short bursts of 150 Nm and 1,500 watts of peak power, at a motor weight of roughly 2.6 kg. Bosch’s latest Performance Line CX tops out at 120 Nm after its most recent software update, but counters with an extensive dealer and service network, particularly in Germany.
For DJI, landing a spot in the lineup of one of Europe’s highest-volume brands is a significant validation of its still-young drive platform. For riders, it means a genuine motor choice within a single model family — and the sales split between the two systems will be watched closely across the industry.
Beyond the drive-system news, Cube’s 2027 range also adds the Nuride Hybrid ONE11, a full-suspension touring model with Bosch CX and an 800 Wh battery.
