Specialized has expanded its urban and trekking e-bike range with the Turbo Vado 3 6.0 IGH, a premium model built around extensive integration and low-maintenance components.
The new Vado uses Specialized’s 3.1 mid-drive motor, delivering up to 100 Nm of torque, together with an 840 Wh battery. Power is transmitted through a Gates carbon belt and an Enviolo Automatic continuously variable internal-gear hub offering a 380% ratio range. The system can change ratios automatically, reducing the need for manual shifting in stop-and-go traffic or on longer mixed-terrain journeys.
Safety and connectivity equipment are unusually comprehensive. A built-in Garmin rear radar monitors approaching traffic, while a 2.2-inch touchscreen is integrated into the cockpit. The bike also supports Apple’s Find My network and includes a Quad Lock smartphone mount with wireless charging. A digitally operated Abus frame lock can be combined with a compatible chain for additional security.
Touring equipment includes front and rear mudguards and two luggage racks. A RockShox fork provides 90 mm of travel, supplemented by a suspension seatpost. The substantial specification brings the complete weight to 32.45 kg. Specialized has set the European list price at €7,899, placing the model firmly in the high-end SUV and commuter category.
