German manufacturer Velo de Ville has revised two of its core models for the 2027 season, with weight reduction as the headline change. Both the trekking-focused AEB PRO and the SUV-oriented SEB PRO are said to come in roughly two kilograms lighter than their predecessors.

The AEB PRO keeps its comfort-first character but promises sharper handling and better ride dynamics thanks to the diet. Buyers can still configure motor, battery and components to suit their needs, with drive options ranging from the Bosch Active Line Plus up to the Performance Line CX. New for 2027 is an 800 Wh Bosch PowerTube option; combined with the PowerMore range extender, total capacity climbs to 1,050 Wh. Pricing starts at €3,549.

The SEB PRO, positioned more clearly as an SUV e-bike on 27.5-inch wheels, also drops about 2 kg and now weighs around 28 kg in its base configuration. For the first time, the model is offered with a wave frame alongside the existing diamond and trapeze options. Entry pricing sits at €3,599, though configured builds can climb quickly.

Two kilograms may sound modest, but for fully equipped trekking and SUV e-bikes the savings matter most off the bike — lifting onto a car rack, maneuvering in tight spaces or carrying up basement stairs. There is also hope the lighter build could reduce the frame flex previously noted on step-through versions, though that remains to be verified in testing.
